Frequently Asked Questions

FAQ

  • We are a private pay practice, which means we do not accept insurance. This allows us to offer a more personalized and flexible experience—free from the limitations of diagnosis codes, session caps, or insurance-driven treatment plans.

  • Yes, we offer individual counseling as well. While our primary focus is couples therapy, we understand that personal growth and relationship health often go hand in hand.

We prioritize availability for individuals who are also participating in couples therapy with us, but we welcome individual clients seeking support for issues like relationship stress, life transitions, anxiety, or emotional overwhelm. Our therapists provide a thoughtful, supportive space to explore your goals and challenges—whether you’re attending on your own or alongside couples work.

  • We are a fully remote practice, offering secure and confidential virtual sessions for couples across New York State.

Many couples find that remote therapy is surprisingly effective—and more convenient. You can join sessions from the comfort of home, without travel time or scheduling stress. Whether you're sitting side-by-side on the couch or joining from different locations, virtual couples therapy can still create meaningful progress and connection.

  • Our therapists use a collaborative, evidence-informed approach to help couples improve communication, rebuild connection, and work through challenges as a team. We don't believe in one-size-fits-all therapy—your relationship is unique, and we’ll tailor our work to your specific goals and dynamic.

Our therapists have completed Level 1 training in the Gottman Method and incorporate many of its well-researched principles, such as building emotional safety, identifying unhelpful patterns, and learning more effective ways to navigate conflict. We also draw from other approaches that support connection, emotional insight, and long-term growth—always with an emphasis on practical tools and real change.

Whether you're feeling stuck, disconnected, or just want to strengthen your bond, we’ll meet you where you are and help you move forward together.

  • We work with couples in all stages of relationship—dating, engaged, married, or long-term partners. Some couples come to therapy to repair after years of miscommunication or betrayal, while others come in proactively to strengthen their connection or navigate big life transitions.

We are inclusive of all identities and relationship structures, and we tailor our approach to your unique goals, values, and dynamic.

  • Every couple is different, but most begin to see meaningful changes within the first few months. Some couples work with us for a short-term boost—focusing on a specific challenge—while others choose to stay longer for deeper work and lasting growth.

During our initial sessions, we’ll collaborate to define your goals and create a plan that works for your needs and schedule.
